Unveil Design FAQ

Have questions? We have answers.

Getting Started

How do I get started with Unveil Design?

The easiest first step is our Quote Builder at unveildesign.com/quote-builder. You can build a custom price for any combination of services in a few minutes without providing any contact information. When you’re ready to move forward, fill out the contact form and we’ll be in touch within 24 hours.

No. You don’t need a finished logo, final copy, or a clear picture of what you want. We’ll walk you through the discovery process and help you figure out what your site needs. The more information you have, the faster we can move, but we’ve started plenty of projects from scratch.

Yes. We work with businesses of all sizes across a wide range of industries. We’ve built sites for contractors, service businesses, retail, healthcare, and more. If your business needs an online presence, we can help.

Yes. While we’re based in Central Pennsylvania, we work with clients nationwide. Everything from initial discovery to launch can be handled remotely, and most clients prefer it that way.

That’s what the free consultation is for. Reach out through the contact form and tell us where your business is at. We’ll recommend what makes sense for your situation and explain what each service actually does for you before you commit to anything.

Pricing & Billing

Are there long-term contracts?

Yes, Unveil Design offers both contracted and contractless service.

See “Who owns my website” for more details.

Support hours beyond your plan’s included amount are billed at $90 per hour, unless your contract specifies otherwise. You’ll always be notified before any additional charges are applied.

Yes. The initial website build is a separate project cost. The monthly service plan covers ongoing management, updates, SEO, and support after the site is live. We’ll outline both clearly in your quote so there are no surprises.

Yes. You can upgrade or downgrade your plan at any time. Changes take effect at the start of the next billing cycle. If you’re unsure which plan is right to start with, we recommend starting with Unveil Basic and upgrading as your needs grow.

We don’t charge hidden setup fees. The quote you receive through our Quote Builder is the price you pay. Any one-time costs, such as the initial website build, are clearly itemized before you sign anything.

We accept all major credit cards, mailed checks, and bank transfer. Invoices are sent at the start of each billing cycle and payment is due upon receipt.

Ownership & Control

Who owns my website?

It depends on your agreement type. On contracted agreements, Unveil Design retains ownership of the website during the contract term. On contractless (month-to-month) agreements, Unveil Design owns the website by default. If you’re on a contractless plan and want to take ownership of your site, you can request a transfer when canceling your plan and we’ll make that happen.

On a contractless agreement, your website stays online until the hosting we provide runs out. We don’t pull it down immediately, but since hosting is included in your plan, it won’t be maintained or renewed after cancellation. On a contracted agreement, you’re responsible for your own hosting, so your site remains fully in your control after the contract ends.

That depends on your agreement. Contractless plans include hosting; it’s built into your monthly cost and managed entirely by us. On contracted agreements, clients are responsible for their own hosting. We’ll help you get set up with the right hosting environment before the project begins.

On contracted agreements, yes. You retain access to your WordPress dashboard and can make content updates directly. On contractless agreements, we don’t provide direct site access for client edits. All changes go through a request submitted via the MyDesign Dashboard and are handled by our team. This ensures the site stays stable and up to our quality standards.

Yes. Domain transfers are available upon request. We’ll walk you through the process and make sure the transfer goes smoothly.

We offer both options. Our standard service packages are month-to-month with no long-term commitment; you can cancel anytime. For clients who want a contracted agreement, that’s available too and comes with different terms around site ownership and hosting. We’ll walk you through both options so you can choose what makes the most sense for your business.

The Website Build Process

How long does it take to build a website?

Most small and medium business websites take 2 to 6 weeks from the kickoff call to launch. The timeline depends on the number of pages, the complexity of functionality, and how quickly feedback is provided during the review stages. We’ll give you a more specific estimate once we understand the scope of your project.

We’ll need the basics from you: your logo, any photos specific to your business, and information about your services. For page copy, we can work with content you provide or write it for you.

Yes. If your current site is built on WordPress, we can redesign it in place. If it’s on another platform, a rebuild is usually the better option. Either way, we’ll discuss the approach that makes the most sense for your situation before any work begins.

We can work with your existing domain in most cases. For hosting, we have specific requirements to ensure your site performs at the standard we hold ourselves to. Depending on your current host, we may recommend migrating to a hosting environment we can fully support and manage.

Our build process includes review stages specifically to catch this. You’ll see the design before it goes into development, and again after the site is built before anything goes live. Revisions are part of the process. We don’t launch a site you’re not happy with.

Working Together

Do I need to sign anything to get started?

Yes. We use a straightforward services agreement that covers the scope of work, pricing, ownership, and cancellation terms. Nothing unusual. We’ll send it over digitally before any work begins.

As involved as you want to be. At minimum, we need you for the initial kickoff to gather information, the design review, and the final approval before launch. Beyond those touchpoints, we handle everything else. If you want to be more involved, we’re happy to accommodate that too.

For monthly service plans, you can cancel before the next billing cycle and won’t be charged again. For project work, deposits are non-refundable.
